Never-Ever: First Day
Your first time on snow: equipment, balance, gliding, and stopping.

The never-ever lesson is about getting comfortable moving on snow on gentle, flat terrain, usually a learning area served by a magic carpet. Skiers learn to stand, glide, and stop with a wedge ("pizza"); snowboarders learn to strap in, balance, and skid to a stop on the heel and toe edges. The goal is to ride the beginner lift and slide down without fear by the end of the day.
A group or private lesson is by far the fastest, safest start. Instructors manage terrain, speed, and the inevitable falls so you build confidence instead of bad habits.

Common questions
- Should I rent or buy gear to start?
- Rent. Schools and shops rent beginner-appropriate gear, and renting lets you find your fit and commitment before buying.
