Metropolitan New York Ski Council
New York, NY
The Metropolitan New York Ski Council traces its origin to 1934, when representatives of six clubs convened as the Central Ski Committee to promote amateur skiing. Today it is a not-for-profit umbrella of roughly 45 member ski and snowboard clubs with more than 20,000 members, securing lift discounts, advertising club trips and inter-club races, and supporting youth-to-the-slopes programs.
Northwest Ski Club Council
Portland, OR
Organized in 1979, the Northwest Ski Club Council (NWSCC) represents ski and snowboard clubs across Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii. It coordinates roughly 25 member clubs and charitable associates totaling about 10,000 members, running the PACRAT ski racing league and council-sponsored trips and activities.
Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council
Chicago, IL
The Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council (CMSC) promotes skiing, snowboarding, and year-round social activities for its member clubs across the Chicago area. It coordinates over 60 member clubs and roughly 7,500 members, negotiating group discounts and organizing trips, races, and events.
SKIBACS Ski & Snowboard Club
Seattle, WA
SKIBACS, the Boeing Employees Ski and Snowboard Club, is a Seattle-area club open to current and former employees and their families, with around 1,700 members. It offers alpine and snowboard lessons, weekend and week-long trips, and operates a member lodge at Crystal Mountain.
The Utah Nordic Alliance
Salt Lake City, UT
The Utah Nordic Alliance (TUNA) is a nonprofit ski club formed in 1990 that promotes cross-country skiing in the Salt Lake City area and northern Utah. Governed by a volunteer board and roughly 800 members, it runs junior and adult race programs, lessons, and events and grooms the Nordic trail system at Mountain Dell.
Auburn Ski Club
Soda Springs, CA
Established in 1928, the Auburn Ski Club is a nonprofit that built the first engineered ski jump in the West and helped lobby California to keep Highway 40 open in winter, ushering in the state's modern ski era. Its nonprofit Auburn Ski Club Training Center on Donner Summit is one of the few combined alpine, Nordic, biathlon, and snowboard training centers in the country.
Blackhawk Ski Club
Middleton, WI
Founded in 1947 when a group of ski jumpers purchased land west of Madison, the Blackhawk Ski Club in Middleton, Wisconsin has grown into a multi-sport youth club. Its programs now span alpine skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, biathlon, and Nordic combined, and it has produced Junior National champions and Olympic ski jumpers.
Bridger Ski Foundation
Bozeman, MT
The Bridger Ski Foundation is a nonprofit community ski club in Bozeman, Montana with programs in Nordic, alpine, freestyle, and freeskiing. Beyond coaching youth and adult teams, the club grooms more than 70 kilometers of free community Nordic trails open to the public.
Conejo Ski & Sports Club
Thousand Oaks, CA
Founded in 1982, the Conejo Ski & Sports Club is a year-round social and ski club for adults in the Thousand Oaks area of Southern California. As a member of the Los Angeles Council of Ski Clubs and the Far West Ski Association, it offers ski trips, amateur racing, and summer sports.
CT SOUL Ski & Sports Club
Hamden, CT
CT SOUL Ski & Sports Club, Inc. was founded in April 2021 in Hamden, Connecticut, and is a member of the National Brotherhood of Skiers and the Connecticut Ski Council. Its members participate in skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports, and it takes part in the NBS Eastern Region youth and young-adult winter sports program.
Dartmouth Outing Club
Hanover, NH
Proposed in 1909 by student Fred Harris to stimulate interest in outdoor winter sports, the Dartmouth Outing Club is a collegiate club with over 1,500 student members and nearly as many non-student members. It hosted the first U.S. downhill ski race on Mt. Moosilauke in 1927 and originated the Dartmouth Winter Carnival, making it a cornerstone of American skiing history.
Ishpeming Ski Club
Ishpeming, MI
Organized in 1887 as the Norden Ski Club and renamed the Ishpeming Ski Club in 1901, this Upper Peninsula club held its first tournament in 1888. Ishpeming is credited as the birthplace of organized skiing in America, and the club still hosts its annual ski-jumping tournament on the historic Suicide Hill.

Jersey Ski & Sports, Inc. has operated since 1979 as a member of the National Brotherhood of Skiers. The club works to initiate, encourage, and promote skiing and snowboarding within the African-American community, organizing trips and events each season.
Nansen Ski Club
Milan, NH
Founded in 1872 by Norwegian immigrants near Berlin, New Hampshire, the Nansen Ski Club is the oldest continuously operating ski club in North America, later renamed for explorer Fridtjof Nansen. Today the volunteer club maintains groomed Nordic ski and snowshoe trails at Milan Hill State Park and works to preserve the historic 'Big Nansen' ski jump.
Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks
Fairbanks, AK
Founded in 1967, the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting and enjoying cross-country skiing in interior Alaska. Across its six-month season the member-elected club organizes group tours, youth programs, clinics, races, and trail grooming for skiers of all ages.
Norge Ski Club
Fox River Grove, IL
Founded in 1905 by Norwegian men who traveled out from Chicago to ski jump, the Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove is one of the oldest continuously operating ski clubs in the United States. Organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, it develops athletes for Olympic-level ski jumping and hosts a long-running annual winter tournament.
Ski Jammers Ski Club
Houston, TX
Organized in 1982 and chartered in 1983, Houston's Ski Jammers is recognized as the first predominantly Black ski club in Texas and a member of the National Brotherhood of Skiers and the Texas Ski Council. Its objective is to promote snow skiing in the Black community with an emphasis on youth development, sponsoring several ski trips each season.
Sno-Gophers Ski Club
Chicago, IL
Established in 1965, the Sno-Gophers Ski Club of Chicago is one of the oldest African-American ski clubs in the United States and a founding member of the National Brotherhood of Skiers. Its members include Art Clay, a co-founder of the NBS and a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame inductee.
St. Paul Ski Club
Maplewood, MN
Dating to 1885, the St. Paul Ski Club is the oldest active ski-jumping club in the United States. Now based in Maplewood, Minnesota, the club operates a four-jump complex and develops ski jumpers from young beginners through Olympians, with synthetic-surfaced hills for summer training.
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club
Steamboat Springs, CO
Founded in 1914 out of the town's annual Winter Carnival, the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club is one of North America's oldest and most successful winter sports clubs. The nonprofit provides sports and youth development programming for over 1,200 athletes and has developed roughly 100 Olympians across its century of operation.
Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation
Sun Valley, ID
Established within the Sun Valley Ski Club in 1966 to give juniors racing opportunities, the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation became an independent nonprofit in 1969. It supports the athletic development of nearly 700 locals in the Wood River Valley across programs from entry-level teams to a professional cross-country gold team, and has produced 25 Winter Olympians.
